Ulisses Marreiros has been appointed as acting General Manager of Reid's Palace in Madeira, having served as resident manager of the hotel for the past 18 months.
Commenting on this appointment, Anton Küng, Orient-Express’ regional managing director, said, “Ulisses has a proven track record at Reid’s Palace and his appointment will guarantee the continuation of the great tradition of service and hospitality that makes the hotel so unique. His personalised approach means he has already developed a great relationship with guests and staff, reinforcing the Orient-Express philosophy.”
Marreiros came to Madeira in July 2008, having previously been director of sales and marketing at the Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa on Portugal's Algarve Coast. Prior to this he was part of the opening sales team for the One&Only Reethi Rah resort in the Maldives.
Ulisses began his career in hospitality at another Orient-Express property, Hotel Quinta do Lago in the Algarve, with experience in banqueting, reservations and reception, working his way up to International Marketing & Sales Manager.
The appointment of Ulisses Marreiros as acting general manager of Reid’s Palace follows the promotion of the previous general manager, Sandro Fabris, to regional managing director of the company’s properties in Southern Africa.
