Madeira Film Festival - May

The Madeira Film Festival intends to be Europe’s most exclusive and independent festival. Held at the prestigious Reid’s Palace, from the 2nd to the 6th of May, the Madeira Film Festival serves as a platform to showcase independent feature, short and documentary films from directors around the world. 

The festival will present a special environmental category screening worldwide nature orientated films. Workshops, Concert with Kyle Eastwood, Gala dinner with harpist Phamie Gaw, Parties at the hotel bar, will be some of the events not to be missed, besides the screening of the flims.

Summer Buffet - June

Every Saturday in June, the Funchal skies come alive with one of the most celebrated traditions in Madeira, ‘The Atlantic Fireworks Festival’. 

To celebrate the arrival of Summer every Saturday (except the 9th of June) from June to September, a rich Summer Buffet will be served by the Pool Restaurant, with live music by the “Adler Quartet”. With its spectacular location, this will be the place to see the fireworks of the Atlantic Festival that will happen during the month of June. The price per person will be of €75, including soft drinks, water and selected wines during the meal.

Summer White Party - July 

To celebrate Summer, the hotel will organise again the famous White Party. The white colour is one of the favourites and it is easily associated with this time of year. 

The White Party will take place on Saturday, 21st July, from 19h30, by the Pool Restaurant in a cool and relaxed atmosphere, with fantastic views and where all the family will have fun. The evening will start with a cocktail followed by a delicious buffet dinner where you will find a wide variety of salads, cold starters, entrées and desserts, accompanied by selected wines.  The entertainment will be with the White Band that will play emblematic tunes mainly from the 70's to the 90's.

Medieval Feast - September 

The "Medieval Feast", will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, and will start with a cocktail at 7.30pm, followed by dinner, where a delicious buffet will be served and selected wines during the meal.  The buffet will be complemented by a few traditional "stalls", where we can find the famous "Poncha" from Madeira, “Sangria”, "Bolo do Caco" (special local bread) and other typical specialities, as well as the crafts people who will show us their skills and regional products.  

“Zarco Band” will play well known and popular flagship music, along with the performers and dancers who will be showcasing the Medieval days.

Dress code is smart casual, although guests will be more than welcome to dress according with the theme of the party. The hotel will help to gear up your style!  Price: 79,00€ per person

Throughout The Year

On Tuesdays, bring your dinner jacket or dark suit and have fun in our famous dinner dance, with live music by the “Swing Feel” band. A 4 course menu, specially designed for the event and welcome “bubbly” with our compliments, served in our original “The Dining Room” with all its Edwardian grandeur. For the most "affectionate”, we offer dancing classes with our specialist Professor Pedro, at 5.00 pm. in Salon 28, on the day of the dinner. Price per person of €66, excluding drinks.

 

Every Thursday, Jazz night at the Cocktail Bar and during the Summer in the Lounge and Terrace, with the “Swing Feel” band. Relax with the excellent music and amazing views over the bay of Funchal, as well as a wide selection of the best premium drinks and cocktails, like the famous Madeirini and Funchal tonic, between 9.30 pm. and 0.00.

 

Every 2nd Thursday of the month, slip off your suit jacket, make your way to Reid's Palace and sip your aperitif in style. Our Drinks & Reid's event takes place between 7.00 pm and 9.30 pm, where our guests can buy one drink and have the next one with our compliments.

Every Friday, Fado evening in “Les Faunes” or “Brisa do Mar” restaurants with the fado singer Eugénia Maria at 9.30 pm.. Enjoy fantastic views and fine dinning.

 

As always an event in itself and not to be missed.  With the sound of the piano and views to the bay of Funchal, the afternoon tea is served on a daily basis between 3.00 pm and 5.30 pm. On Wednesdays and Sundays guests will have the chance to join our guided visits to the beautiful Reid's Palace gardens at 3.30pm.. Price per person of €31,50, including a  wide selection of teas and infusions, finger sandwiches (salmon, prawns, avocado, cucumber and cheese) Reid's scones and assorted mini pastry.
