The Colca Canyon
Colca Canyon, located in Southern Peru is one of the deepest canyons in the world at 10,725 ft and runs over 100 kilometres.
Twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, the walls are dotted with pre-Inca and Inca agricultural terraces, some of which are still in use today. Volcanoes dominate in the background and the Colca River flows through the heart of the valley.
An abundance of nature is found throughout the Colca Canyon, including the Andean Condor. The Colca Canyon is a land of awe-inspiring vistas which remains as yet relatively undiscovered by tourism. |
